Imogene "Queenie" Kennedy was a contemporary priestess in post-colonial Jamaica who catapulted her African spiritual practice into renown. But after centuries of erasure, what remains of the dance between the living and the dead?In the wake of the loss of her mother, the filmmaker travels into the heart of the Jamaican countryside to research and witness kumina, an ancestral ritual. The ancient practice, she learns, is a driving force in Jamaica's culture and identity. Yet historically, its leaders have been discarded as witches, even criminalized. Jamaica's post-colonial renaissance enabled Queenie to share her practice and enabled artists and followers to celebrate it. But so much has been lost. What can be unearthed in this dance between the living and dead? Can those seeking refuge in Queenie's story claim the powerful forces that are their ancestral birthright?

Feelings of not belonging, isolation and displacement are unfortunate foundations of the Black experience. "Layer's is a retelling of that story through dance. Our main dancer has lost their spirit, feeling unsure of themselves and their identity in the new world they've entered. When we meet them, they are on the run and are lost. They appear small despite the vastness of the open space they are in because they have not fully realized how to utilize the resources around them. They are scared of the newfound because they do not know what the land is; who it is for.Through previous traumas, the main dancer appears visibly humbled and stripped of the identity they previously had. Their clothes are torn, and theyâ€™re exposed: a shell of their former selves and without any layers indicative of the nuances of their ideal identity.Throughout the film, the dancer comes in contact with people of different identities: both in dance style and personality. Like a stranger giving a smile or a friend that comes into your life at the right time, these different people are here to guide the lost dancer to find who they are again.

Produced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bruce Wood Dance (Dallas, TX) produced the Screendance&nbsp;Promise Me You’ll Sing My Song.&nbsp;The work&nbsp;is an homage to Mr. Reuben Johnson, an innocent man who was lynched on December 27, 1874 in Mountain Creek, Texas, USA. With choreography by Adam W. McKinney, film and editing work by The DIgibees, music by Najeeb Sabour, and performed by dancer Matthew Roberts,&nbsp;Promise Me You’ll Sing My Song&nbsp;has an all-Black creative team.&nbsp;Promise Me You’ll Sing My Song&nbsp;was filmed&nbsp;near the site of the lynching of Mr. Johnson and investigates the&nbsp;possibility of healing from racial terror violence generations later. The work invites viewers to wrestle with history that hides in plain sight.&nbsp;

SNAP, Archie's Story is a short video conceived and directed by George Stamos featuring the legendary dancing, distinct voice and story of NYC vogue-dance icon Archie Burnett (Grandfather of the House of Ninja). In this rare and vulnerable portrait, vivid imagery, humour, movement, and Archie's narration come together to tell his remarkable story of resilience and unwavering fierceness. Both playful and contemplative SNAP explores the precarious and sometimes punishing world of professional dance as dancers uphold images of strength and a "the show must go on" mentality, despite pain and adversity. Through inventive visual collage and recent and archival footage, SNAP provides a backstage pass into Archie's path as a pioneer in this art form.

How to Transfer Passes:

How to Transfer Tickets:
1.	Once you've unlocked a virtual ticket or purchased a physical event ticket, log into your Eventive account and click My Tickets in the top right corner of your screen.
2.	Click the gear icon next to the ticket you wish you transfer.
3.	Click Transfer Tickets.
4.	Confirm the ticket you want to transfer by checking the box next to the ticket name, then click the blue "Transfer 1 Ticket" button on the bottom right.
5.	Enter the recipient's email address, then click the blue "Confirm & Send Transfer" button.
6.	The ticket will still appear in your My Tickets page. It will now say "1 Transfer Pending."
7.	Your recipient will receive an email from noreply@eventive.org with the subject line "Gift from [your email address]" Your recipient must click the blue Accept Gift Stream button!
